Volunteer Spotlight

Ella and Emily

Cheyenne Mountain sophomores Ella and Emily originally sought out FLS to complete 10 hours of Service Learning for AP Economics. But they quickly flew through those school-assigned hours and kept coming back for more at FLS.

What motivates them?  “We love the kids!” they exclaimed.  They don’t mind giving up their own free time to volunteer, because they said they love to see the joy of the families. Our kids are great, they say, and different from other kids.  “We also babysit in fancy neighborhoods. It’s so great to see our kids here at FLS get excited about something simple like oranges for treats, instead of like a lot of other kids who just seem addicted to their cell phones. We love to see the kids smile about the little things!”
