Ivy and Holly Webb came to us through their local chapter of National Charity League, a mother-daughter volunteer organization. Together, they play with FLS kiddos during our group gathering on Monday nights—Holly on the floor with toddlers, and Ivy, right alongside her, admiring her daughter’s budding nurturing instincts. “Holly is excited when families launch into stable housing, since that’s the goal, but also sad—because she’s become attached to these amazing kids.” Their story is similar to many in the local area—after driving past FLS many times without knowing of the courageous work done here by single moms, their first volunteer service on campus captivated them. Ivy, a dentist and busy mom of 2 herself, became the FLS-NCL liaison in order to connect more families to our mission. “Since we’re a group of mothers & daughters, we love that we can come alongside other moms and children and make a difference!” And indeed, they do. All our volunteers play a crucial role for our part-time staff. Thank you to Ivy, Holly, and the many individuals and teams who roll up their sleeves to help FLS families build new futures!
