Dear FLS Friends,
During September’s Women of Courage meeting (at FLS), the women talked about where the group has come from and their dreams. Psalms 37 helped us to consider how we are “dwelling in the land” where God has us right now. Are we trusting in Him, doing good, dwelling in the land and enjoying safe pasture? When we do, we can take delight.
One of the delights that day was hearing one mom’s story. Her summary: “I love FLS. Without it, I would be dead, and so would my child.” That’s a powerful statement! Rather than continuing in a former, life-threatening situation, she now provides stability physically, emotionally and spiritual for her child. What better testimony could there be for how God has used FLS – and continues to do so!
We have had several classes on Applied Financial Planning on Monday evenings. The women involved are learning much from volunteer Dennis Myers! Volunteers have blessed us in many ways – including a morning with 54 cadets helping us to take care of our buildings and property. If you, or a group you are involved with, want to volunteer, we always have a “to do” list with needs on it!
In the remaining months this year, we will be hosting dinners in our new “main room”. If you’d like to come to one of these dinners for a deeper understanding of the FLS ministry, please let us know – you’re invited! (Please call the office at 632-4661 to let us know of your interest.)
Our new Office Manager, Rebecca Brooks, is now at FLS Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, which are our new office hours! She has repeatedly told us what an answer to prayer this job is for her.
Please pray that God quickly sends a Resident Coach to us. This person will walk with our residents life-on-life, and be the glue of our resident program. (If you want to know more, go to our “Apply” page to find the job description and an application.)
Thank you for your role in our ministry. Without your generous financial gifts, time and prayer, we would not be able to impact the families in our programs. We are truly grateful for you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you. May He be gracious to you.
